There was high Transaction volumes recorded in the equities sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday following heavy trading in the shares of FinBank Nigeria Plc as investors exchanged 502.5 million shares, worth N2.7 billion in 7,099 deals over 369.5 million units worth N1.6 billion recorded in 7,183 deals the previous day.
Specifically, at the close of trading yesterday, the banking sub-sector sustained its lead with 339.9 million shares, worth N2 billion in 3,932 deals, while the insurance sub-sector followed with 364 deals.
The Mortgage companies sub-sector ranked third with 23.8 million shares worth N16.9 million in 84 deals.
The Nigerian stocks exchange stated that the shares of FinBank buoyed activities in the banking sub-sector with 135.1 million shares, worth N83.9 million in 163 deals, followed by Zenith Bank Plc which traded 78.4 million units, worth N1.2 million in 240 deals.
