After a meeting that lasted for over 8 hours at the glass house Abuja, NFF Sacked Amodu As Super Eagles Coach and also Shortlists 5 names;Guus Hiddink,Peter Taylor,Ratomir Djugovic ,Louis Van Gaal and Bruno Metsu as possible replacement

The technical committee of the NFF is to recommend three names from the list of five and revert back to the board of Nigeria football federation by Tuesday February 9th while the final candidate will be announced by end of the month.

The federation said that it had not yet officially approached any of the managers but that a one month screening process would now commence with a view to appointing one of the shortlisted coaches as technical adviser.

Meanwhile, the statement released by the NFF after the meeting also stated that, Amodu and his assistants, should take charge of the home based eagles in preparation of the 2011 African championships, the version of African cup of Nations strictly for home based players.

This will be the second time coach Amodu Shibu will qualify the Nigerian team for the World cup without guiding the team to the mundial, first was in 2002 where he was replaced by Adegboye Onigbinde after a third place finish at the 2002 Africa cup of Nations in Mali, the same situation the former Orlando pirate gaffa found himself this period.
